The Member Grand Lodges
Freemasonry is a brotherhood based on a long tradition of community and knowledge exchange. We are a global organization focused on moral and ethical values such as freedom, equality, brotherhood, and tolerance. Our members are men committed to a spiritual journey and personal development. Freemasonry has a rich history and a variety of symbols and rituals practiced in our lodges. These rituals have deep meanings and are intended to promote the moral and ethical education of our members.
Our organization is divided into different degrees or levels through which members can progress. These degrees represent different aspects of growth and understanding. We also encourage social engagement and charity work to serve society. It’s important to note that Freemasonry can vary from lodge to lodge, as each lodge has its own focuses and traditions. Our organization is open to men who are committed to the aforementioned values and principles and seek personal growth.
The historically different currents in Freemasonry are expressed through the organization in different Grand Lodges, under the common roof of the United Grand Lodges of Germany. Each Grand Lodge can maintain its own rituals and traditions. These may vary in how ceremonies are conducted, in the languages and degrees used. Some Grand Lodges may have different requirements for the background or beliefs of their members. These differences reflect the diversity and complexity of Freemasonry as a global movement. Each Grand Lodge develops its own identity, shaped by its specific traditions, beliefs, and practices.
